Ariston Holdings, a leader in Zimbabwean Agriculture Since 1947.

Ariston produces fine black tea that is enjoyed by Zimbabweans, and the neighboring regions alike but is also internationally recognized in Congo, United Kingdom and China. We also produce macadamia nuts, bananas, avocado’s, poultry, livestock and row crops defining us as an agricultural powerhouse.

About Us

A Legacy Rooted in Heritage, Grown for the Future

Founded in 1947 and proudly listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, Ariston Holdings began as a single tea farm nestled in the misty Eastern Highlands. With fertile soils and a cool, temperate climate, our journey started with a singular purpose: to cultivate Camellia sinensis – the essence of bold, flavourful black tea.

What began as a focused passion for tea has grown into a diversified agricultural enterprise. While our roots remain in tea, we have expanded to include premium macadamia nuts, bananas, avocados, and – coming in 2025 – the revival of Zimbabwean coffee.

Driven by tradition, refined by nature, and committed to innovation, Ariston continues to grow with the land, for the land.

Farms

Our Agri-Centres of Excellence

Ariston Holdings operates five vibrant agricultural estates, each dedicated to the cultivation of premium produce. From the cool Eastern Highlands to fertile lowland regions, our farms specialise in growing tea, macadamia nuts, bananas, avocados, and – beginning in 2025 – coffee.

Home to Our State of the Art Macadamia Drying Facility

Located in Zimbabwe’s lush Eastern Highlands, Clearwater is one of three estates in the region and serves as a cornerstone of Ariston Holdings’ agricultural operations. It houses over 200 hectares of thriving tea gardens and the majority of our macadamia orchards – some dating back to 1979.

Clearwater is not only a centre of cultivation but also of innovation. In 2017, we launched the Davora Factory, a state-of-the-art macadamia processing facility designed to elevate our value-added supply chain. Equipped with advanced X-ray scanning technology, the facility ensures each nut meets the highest quality standards for both local and export markets.

From Leaf to Cup – Powered by the Sun

Southdown Estate, the third gem in our Eastern Highlands trio, is home to Ariston Holdings’ primary tea processing factory. Here, fresh green leaves from Clearwater Estate are expertly transformed into our signature black tea – bringing rich, flavourful brews to tables across the globe.

What sets Southdown apart is its commitment to sustainability. Our innovative solar PV farm powers the tea processing line, making this transformation from leaf to cup not only efficient but environmentally conscious.

Beyond tea, Southdown also cultivates part of our macadamia orchards and supports thriving banana plantations, reflecting the diversity and resilience of our agricultural operations.

Visitors are welcome to experience this journey from field to factory – where tradition meets innovation, and nature meets nurture.

Where Mountains, Tea, and Heritage Meet

Tucked deep within the breathtaking Chimanimani Mountains, Rosscommon is arguably our most scenic estate. Its 250 hectares of vibrant clonal tea gardens shimmer under the mountain sun, creating a landscape as rich as the tea it produces.

Rosscommon operates with a high degree of independence – home to its own tea factory and sawmill – allowing seamless farm-to-factory operations. The estate also offers a charming guest house, welcoming visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and serenity of the Eastern Highlands.

Looking ahead, Rosscommon is reviving its legacy in coffee cultivation. Once a staple of the region, coffee is set to return as a cornerstone crop – bringing not only flavour and value, but also job creation and economic upliftment to the local community.

From Processing to Packaging – The Final Step in Our Tea Journey

Situated at Clearwater Estate, the BTF Factory is where our expertly processed black tea is packaged and prepared for the local market. It serves as the final touchpoint in our tea value chain – ensuring quality, consistency, and care in every pack.

Our flagship Three Leaves brand, available in three distinct flavours, has become a cherished favourite among Zimbabwean tea lovers. Building on this local success, we are proud to expand our horizons with two new product lines designed for the export market – sharing the bold, authentic taste of Zimbabwean tea with the world.

Diversified Agriculture at the Heart of Zimbabwe

Located just an hour south of Harare in the central highlands, Kent Estate offers a distinctly different agricultural profile from our Eastern Highlands operations. Its fertile plains and favorable climate make it ideal for large-scale row cropping and diversified farming.

Kent is a key producer of maize, soya beans, sugar beans, livestock, and poultry, supporting both food security and sustainable agri-business. Its expansive flatlands and untouched forests are not only vital for cultivation but are also home to the highest recorded number of bird species in Zimbabwe – a true haven for biodiversity.

Looking ahead, Kent is set to expand into high-value crops such as berries and strawberries, and will soon host a state-of-the-art milling facility. This will allow us to process maize and soya for both human consumption and as feed for our growing livestock operations.
